The 1200 Custom sports a sleek one-piece, two-up classic seat that has all the premium material, stitching and style you expect from Harley-Davidson, the motorcycle makers who’ve been putting their own seats in the saddle for over a hundred years. It’s a great seat to go solo, and has plenty of room to bring along a friend. SEAT ENGINEERING AND DESIGN The seat is home for Harley-Davidson® motorcycle riders. They want a seat that has unique style without sacrificing comfort. Because of that, Harley-Davidson invests a lot of time in researching, designing and testing seats so that every bike has just the right saddle. All 2012 Sportster® models will have Michelin® ScorcherTM tires with a tread pattern designed, tested and styled specifically for the Sportster® motorcycle to provide an ideal grip, an even wear and a longer life. Fifteen Sportster® paint options include seven new colour choices for 2012.

Built for the long and winding roads of the country, this custom cruiser was designed with the idea of being an all-around companion for the most ardent of riders. A wide front end and chunky 16' tire gives the new Sportster 1200 Custom a strong and contemporary stance. It features plenty of all the trademark Harley amenities, including new wheels, a pull-back handlebar, and a reshaped LED tail lamp. All these elements give the Sportster 1200 Custom an exciting new look that should be an eye candy to a lot of riders. The headlamp offers a reshaped classic Sporter 'eyebrow' look while the taillight comes with a new shape that features a bright, low-maintenance LED element. The pull-back handlebar, a critical piece of Harley’s design engineering, is mounted on a curved riser that likewise incorporates an LED warning light display.

The bike is then finished off with a pair of chrome, 5-Spoke cast aluminum wheels on the front and rear and wrapped in Michelin Scorcher “31” tires. In terms of powertrain, the Sportster 1200 Custom is far from a push-over, thanks to a mighty and rubber mounted 1200cc Evolution V-Twin powertrain with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) and mated to a five-speed transmission and a dual staggered exhaust system. On top of all of its features, the Sportster 1200 Custom also comes with an H-D1 factory customization, a new opportunity that allows the customer to choose from seven option categories to optimize fit, function and style.
