Goodman Comfortnet Thermostat Manual
Any updates on the post below A few years ago ecobee made a bunch of announcements about supporting comfortnet, which is the open standard used by goodman/amana for communications between their higher end furnaces/air handlers/heat pumps etc. Right now there is only one line of thermostats which support it, and they are. Not very good. They work, but nothing as nice as ecobee or nest. This allows for full and direct control of multi-stage and modulating furnaces plus auto setup based on sizing of units.
Not to mention fault detection. Its a huge step forward, thing is. Ecobee hasn't said anything since then and asking them directly gets a 'we don't talk about future products' response. Anyone have any info? I am aware an ecobee can control a multi stage furnace, but it doesn't do it directly. There are many limitations in how it is done without communication like switching back from 2 to one stage to slowly hit target and with modulating furnaces or inverter AC units you dramatically reduce the functionality (only two stages vs nearly infinite) to increase runtimes. Not to mention limits on humidification/dehumidification and zoning integration.
I have the same model don't worry about comfort net if you set up the ecobee correct and the dip switch's on The furnace board you will be good. I found the ecobee saves me more money then the communication thermostat. Just read the manual it will show you everything you need for ramping and heat and cool profiles i use cooling profile D and heat profile A i forgotten the speed of the blower motor but i have it on the slowest setting with a 10% increase.

I don't use the dehumidifier setting it just seems the ecobee just doesn't work right in the dehumidifier. Comfortnet just makes it easier to change profiles blower motor speed so you don't have to go on the furnace board to make a change but once it's set it's set.
The Goodman CTK-02 Communicating Control Thermostat programmable touch-screen digital control works with both the Amana brand and Goodman brand ComfortNet-ready heating and cooling systems. The ComfortNet Communicating Control System allows all components of your system to communicate with each other, enabling optimum airflow and efficiency and easy diagnotics. ComfortNet continuously monitors itself and the system. If it senses a problem developing, the touchscreen control Home Screen Display will indicate Call for Service inches and CHECK (i.e., Furnace Heatpump, Air Conditioner, Air Handler) to identify an equipment fault. This prompts the end user to contact a qualified service technician. The ComfortNet High Definition Communicating Control System works with Goodman and Amana brand HVAC products and systems.
