Purpose of Attunement The main purpose of an attunement or reiju (pronounced Ray-joo) is to raise your energy level to re-connect you to your inner true self (soul), plus strengthen your connection to universal spiritual energy. In Reiki Level 2, you are attuned through one initiation process. This opens your heart chakra, which allows you to share and experience un-conditional universal love and compassion.
